If you were to ask me what my happy place is I would answer “Sanibel FL, Christmas time, with my family!”
My parents have been spending Christmas at the beach in Sanibel, Fl with my Mom’s family since before I was born and we still continue the tradition today. There really isn’t anything more relaxing and rejuvenating than a couple weeks by the ocean with a good book or some good jams and rosé in hand! I love that our time at the beach is during a time of the year where there is a lot of reflection on everything that’s happened the year before and a chance to reset to get ready for the year ahead. We ride bikes, sip mimosas, catch up on life, take long walks on the beach to tiki bars for sunset cocktails, collect seashells & memories. Ok that was cheesy but for real, y’all. It’s amazing. There’s no schedule other than the mandatory tacky Christmas Eve competition where we attend the annual Christmas Eve beach side service. The competition has totally overshadowed the reality that we look downright ridiculous. But it’s OUR thing and it really is so special and meaningful.
Needless to say, I want to be feeling my best going into the holiday season because, well, really who doesn’t ALWAYS want to feel their best, but I’m also going to be in a swimsuit ...& after Thanksgiving & all of the holiday parties & cocktails, there’s bound to be a little bloating buldge happening, ya know?!
So, I was so happy on my last call with my nutritionist Kimberly to chat about this little tea concoction she swears by and I’m about to be obsessed with! I asked her to send me an email with details on exactly how to make it because I did not want to give y’all the wrong info...so this is straight from the mouth of The Beauty Fox! She really has been such a light in my life and helped me create a healthier lifestyle. It is so nice to have the help of an expert in the field of nutrition and wellness! If you’re not following @thebeautyfox, you should be!!
An infusion is different than a normal tea because it’s more concentrated. In general an herb should steep a minimum of 30 mins steeping in boiling water. The longer the steep the more nutrients will be extracted from the leaves!
Drink 2-3 cups of this a day. You can carry in your 32 ounce blender bottle or thermas / warm or over ice if going out of the house!
Make sure to drink 10 glasses of water a day in addition to the teas!
Recipe for my slimming tea:
-Boil water in medium pot
-Use 2 Daily Detox Tea bags
-Use 3 Dandelion tea bags (this is the all star)
-1 whole lemon - - squeezed and place peels in the liquid
- 1 or 2 Stevia for sweetness
Serve over ice or warm. However you like it.
